Macro image of altered analcime and catapleiite with oxide staining from the Blue Lakes Gorge area in the foothills of Aykuayvenchorr Mountain, Khibiny Massif, Russia. The sample displays a white granular analcime matrix intergrown with brownish catapleiite zones showing signs of chemical weathering and surface oxidation. Reddish-brown iron and manganese oxide stains are visible on the rock surface, indicating natural alteration processes in an Arctic environment. The image was obtained by optical focus stacking through a microscope objective at 4× magnification with a field of view of 9 mm. The texture ranges from sugary granular to earthy and crusty, reflecting supergene modification of primary alkaline silicates. No chemical or spectral analysis was performed; all mineral identifications are preliminary and based on visual morphology and locality data from Mindat ID 2682. The substrate shows natural surface features with no artificial modification. Lighting is even and directional, enhancing contrast between the white silicate matrix and dark oxide coatings and revealing three-dimensional relief without artificial enhancement. No digital filters or compositing beyond focus stacking were applied. This documentation serves as observational data for the study of mineral weathering and secondary oxide formation. It supports educational materials in geology, mineralogy, and geochemistry, illustrating how primary minerals degrade under surface conditions.
